We are looking for a Mechanical Craftsman to join our Cwmbran team on days. The role purpose will be to maximise the operating efficiency of the plant and to maintain the assets, these objectives are to be achieved at the lowest practicable cost. To carry out maintenance work as directed, organizing material requirements and any supplementary labour.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

 Responsible for all Mechanical Maintenance activities whilst providing a continuous 24 hour maintenance service for all process and ancillary support equipment and services, in order to maximize area Plant availability and Production capability.

 Co-ordinating maintenance activities within a specified area of the plant.

 Working in close liaison with Production and other managers during MBT and Lean Manufacturing activities.

 Assisting the Engineering Manager in the control of outside contractors introduced into the area (e.g. dropshifts, development projects, major repair projects), to meet specific work requirements and the development of the plant to meet changes in Production techniques.

 Responsible for regular testing and maintenance of all Mechanical services and associated standby equipment providing Process and Plant Protection.

 Enforce safe working practices to ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner. Provide and maintain a safe working environment.

 Responsible for the implementation and development of mechanical maintenance routines for the designated areas

 Ensure that spare parts are correctly stocked and appropriate

 Carry out training of plant personnel where required

    Knowledge & experience:

     Preferably experience of mechanical maintenance in a continuous manufacturing process

    • 5 – 10 years maintenance experience

    • Multi- skill trained

     Excellent organisational skills

     Highly motivated and team player

     Proven effective management and communication skills

     Preferably knowledge of SAP PM
